USCS relies on data from two major U.S. cancer registry programs. The National Program of Cancer Registries collects cancer incidence data from state and territorial registries across nearly the entire U.S., providing broad population coverage. The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program gathers data from selected geographic areas with detailed tumor characteristics and follow-up information. Together, these two sources feed USCS, giving a comprehensive national picture of cancer incidence.

Other options mix in organizations that aren’t registry programs feeding USCS. CDC funds NPCR, but CDC itself isn’t another registry program; ACS and NIH are organizations or agencies, not the two registry programs that contribute data to USCS.
